ARU provides undergraduate and postgraduate pathways at the Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) Cairo campus. Our Foundation program is designed to support students who may not yet meet the requirements for direct entry or have not studied the necessary subjects for their chosen degree.

Foundation Year English Requirements:
- IELTS 5 overall.
- TOEFL iBT 72 overall.
- Pearson PTE Academic 59 overall.
Alternatively, if you are in the UK, you can take our own English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT).
- Standard undergraduate requirement: 60% overall with 55% in each of the four skills.
Further acceptable types. High School Grade:
- GCSE English language grade C.
- IGCSE English Language/English – First Language grade C.
- IGCSE English as a Second Language – grade C.
- Cambridge O Level English Language grade.
- International Baccalaureate English exam grade 5.
Foundation Year
Depending on your academic needs here at ARU Cairo we have two pathway entry points available
– A Foundation Year with ARU Cairo is a two trimester course that takes place before your degree at ARU. This means that your degree will take 4 years to complete in total.
– A Foundation pathway is available for students who:
- Do not quite meet the entry requirements to enter university directly (but hold GCSE level qualifications)
- Feel that additional support at the start of university studies will help them stand a better chance of success
- Have been away from studies for a period of time
- Come from a different academic environment to that of the UK
- Require additional English language training
