About
The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport falls under the umbrella of the Arab League of Nations. After the academy’s establishment in 1972 in the city of Alexandria, Egypt, it expanded into Cairo. Throughout its established history of more than forty years, AASTMT has a proven track record in the spheres of maritime transport, engineering, and management sciences. These achievements have led the academy to constantly move forward, occupying a leading, world-wide rank on the list of educational institutions. The academy takes pride in being a top educational institute in the Middle East to offer a variety of majors and programs that suit the international realm of studies.

Fees

Egyptian students with a high school certificate from the Arab Republic of Egypt are allowed to pay the tuition fees in Egyptian pounds according to dollar rate determined by the academy

To alleviate the financial burden on parents, Egyptian applicants who have obtained Thanawiya Amma or equivalent certificates offered inside the Arab Republic of Egypt may opt to pay their fees in Egyptian Pound as per the Dollar exchange rate specified by AASTMT for this term, which is 13.45 Egyptian Pounds.
■ 100 US Dollars are added to the fees annually, to be calculated on the basis of the Dollar exchange rate determined by AASTMT.
■ Total annual increase in US Dollar exchange rate does not exceed 10% of the exchange rate specified by AASTMT which may divide it over the two semesters.
■ Accommodation, meals, and uniform fees (USD 2,980 per semester) are obligatorily added to the fees every semester for all students of the College of Maritime Transport & Technology for the first four semesters only.
■ A sum of USD 350 will be added to tuition fees of all majors as lab insurance for the first semester only.
■ Such fees do not cover maritime training of the College of Fisheries and Aquaculture Technology.

    members in Egyptian public universities.
  • Discount for the Academy School
  • Discount of brother(s): Whether the newcomer’s brother still studying in the Academy or has graduated, the Academy offered discount in both cases.

 

Tuition Fees Refund Regulations:

■ Applicants may receive full refund of all paid fees till 19/8/2021 except for admission fees as they are non-refundable. This does not apply to applicants who paid during the early admission phase till July 1st, 2021.

Those applicants should follow the tuition fees refund regulations stated in the First Phase (Early Admission)above.
■ A sum of 6,725 Egyptian Pounds or 500 US Dollars are deducted from the tuition fees starting 22/8/2021
till the first day of classes. Admission fees are non-refundable.
■ A sum of 13,450 Egyptian Pounds or 1,000 US Dollars are deducted starting from the first day of classestill the end of the first week. Admission fees are non-refundable.
■ 30% of the total tuition fees are deducted starting the second week of classes.
■ No refund is allowed starting the third week of classes.

Matriculation Requirements:

  • Holder of the High School (ThanawiyaAmma) certificate or any equivalent certificate
  • Medical fitness for the Nautical, Marine Engineering and Fisheries Technology departments.
  • The student must not exceed 22 years (for Egyptians) at the beginning of classes and must declare his military conscription status
  • Sitting for the English Placement Test is a must
  • The student in the Marine Engineering Technology can complete their studies to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering after the fifth semester if they have met the requirements of admission in the College of Engineering and Technology.

Enrolment Documents and Fees:

  1. An official extract according to the type of the student’s certificate:
  • High School (ThanawiyyaAmma): A certificate, or an official extract, of successful completion of High School (ThanawiyyaAmma)
  • American Diploma: A certificate of grades of the tenth, eleventh and twelfth years with 12 years of schooling (official transcript)
  • IGCSE: Certificates
  • Certificate of successful completion of courses in all equivalent certificates (Abitur French Baccalaureate – the International Baccalaureate – the Canadian Baccalaureate)
  1. Birth certificate or an official document
  2. A copy of ID card or passport
  3. A copy of parent’s / guardian’s ID card or passport
  4. Four personal Photos (6 x 4)
  5. Payment of  submission and enrollment fees (Non-refundable)
  6. Mental and physical medical Certificate.
  7. A letter of embassy approval of the student’s admission to the Academy. This is a must for students whose embassies require that approval (such as Saudi Arabia– Kuwait – the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Oman- Qatar)

Admission Procedures

Admission to the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT)
consists of three phases as follows:

First Phase (Early Admission):

■ Applicants can apply before the release of high school results, and can pay the admission fees and a deposit from the tuition fees.
■ AASTMT accepts early payment of tuition fees which allows applicants to pay the tuition fees before July 1st, 2021 with a partial scholarship of 5% discount from the total tuition fees of the first semester (2021/2022)only, provided that applicants fulfil the admission requirements upon the release of high school grades.
In case an applicant requests a refund of tuition fees, 25% of the total tuition fees will be automatically
deducted till the end of the third week of classes after which no refund is possible.
■ If an applicant does not fulfill all admission requirements upon the release of Thanawiya Amma or equivalent certificates results, he/she will get an automatic refund of tuition fees as he/she will not be admitted to AASTMT.

Second & Third Admission Phases:

■ Applicants may apply to colleges and departments that have vacancies, after Thanawiya Amma or equivalent certificates results are released, until the end of the admission period.
■ The admission decision is announced for every phase on AASTMT website (www.aast.edu) within one
week of the announcement by the Supreme Council of Universities of the admission regulations for this
year, provided that the results of Thanawiya Amma or equivalent certificates, have been released.
