WHAT ARE THE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS?

Requirements for General Certificate of Education (GCE/IGCSE)

• Sustainable Design Engineering: 5 ‘O’ levels in the appropriate subjects with no grade below 65% and 1 AS level in Mathematics (minimum grade of B)
• Computer Science & Mathematics: 5 ‘O’ levels in the appropriate subjects and 1 AS level in Mathematics (minimum grade of B)
• Entrepreneurship: 5 ‘O’ levels in the appropriate subjects with a minimum grade of B in Mathematics
• English proficiency proof (if available). Students who did not submit the IELTS, TOEFL or Duolingo with the required test score will be required to sit for an English Placement Exam.

• To avoid any English (EAP) courses during the academic year, the university will require either:

  • an overall IELTS score of 6.5,  6.5 in writing no other band below 6
  • PTE of score 58
  • a TOEFL Internet-based Test Score of 80+ with a minimum of 20 in each category
  • a TOEFL Paper-based Test Score of 550 with minimum TWE of 5.5

• Admission from Grade 11
  This is for the exceptional student with at least 85% in Grades 10 and 11, who is highly recommended by the school (at least two letters), and who has written parental permission. Students with special aptitudes who may not have 85% will also be considered.

WHAT ARE THE TUITION FEES FOR OUR PROGRAMS?

Fees per Semester are based on an average of 5 courses per Semester.

* National Students can pay the fees in Egyptian Pounds based on the rate of National Bank Of Egypt on the day of the payment.

•  For Cohort 2023/2024, a (10%) discount up to 1080 USD guaranteed entrance
  discount per year for the full 4 years.
• A tuition deposit of 1500 USD should be paid upon receiving the early admission offer to confirm your place. Upon receiving final acceptance letter, student should pay fees for the semester over two equal installments. The remainder of the first installment (50%) due upon receiving the final acceptance letter (5 working days from letter date), second payment (50%) after one month from beginning of semester.
• 5% extra discount for paying the full year(2 semesters) fees before the beginning of the academic year.

Other fees: (National Students)

• Non-Academic fees: EGP 10,000 (to be paid annually)
• Engineering Lab fees: EGP 15,000 (to be paid annually)
• Business & Computer Science Lab fees: EGP 8,000 (to be paid annually) 
• Health Insurance fees: EGP 2,000 (to be paid annually and mandatory to all students and in case any student submits another health insurance document, the amount will be waived)
• Facilities insurance fees: EGP 5,000 (One-time fee / Refundable) 
• EAP fees: (Full-Time) USD 4,500 per semester.
                     (Part-Time)USD 1,080 per course.

Faculty of Communication & Design (FCAD)

FCAD is Canada’s home of creativity. We are dedicated to developing creators with authentic voices who engage directly with creative industries around the world, offering more opportunities to educate future creative leaders than anywhere else.

1)Fashion:

Discover what makes an artificial heart beat, an escalator move or robots walk and talk. You’ll learn the engineering principles necessary to design, manufacture and test machines, biomechanical implants, energy-efficient systems, thermofluid systems and consumer products.

3)Electrical Engineering:

Electrical engineers shape the technology that powers our world – from computer systems to electronic devices and power transmission systems. Use your knowledge of engineering principles and practices to design, develop and implement electrical circuit relationships, electronic devices, integrated circuits, microprocessors, computers and control systems. Gain in-demand expertise to advance technology in industries ranging from health care to manufacturing to consumer electronics.

Fashion, Media Production, Sport Media:

• At least two (2) A Levels in different subject areas with final grades of C or higher. Please note: Two AS Levels are acceptable in place of an A Level.
• Applicants must also present GCSE/IGCSE/O Levels in at least three different subject areas with minimum final grades of B/6 or higher in one subject and C/4 or higher in two other subjects. English with a grade of B/6 or higher is required at the GCSE/IGCSE/O Level or A Level.

Engineering:

• A Level Mathematics and A Level Physics with final grades of C or higher in each. Please note: AS Levels are not acceptable in place of these subject A Levels.
• Applicants must also present GCSE/IGCSE/O Levels of at least three different subject areas with minimum final grades of B/6 or higher in one subject and C/4 or higher in two other subjects. English and Chemistry with grade of C/4 or higher is required at the GCSE/IGCSE/O Level or A Level.

B)Non-Academic Requirements:

-Written Statements:

Please answer the following two questions in a thoughtful, reflective and compelling manner, strictly limiting your response for each to the word count specified.

1. Provide a personal statement as to why you have chosen Media Production and explain what you have done that demonstrates why you are a good candidate for this program. Please include your areas of interest and where you see yourself working after graduating from the Media Production program. (300 words) .
2. Choose a favorite media product (from television, film, music, radio, theatre, or any other creative medium) and describe what makes it compelling for you and how you might adapt it to another media platform. (500 words).

Please ensure that your response to the above questions are saved and submitted as one file.

-Resume:

Prepare a current resume/curriculum vitae highlighting education, work experience, volunteer experience, and extracurricular activities.

-Interview when Requested

After the assessment of the above materials, candidates will be informed if they have been chosen to participate in the interview stage of our admission selection process. FCAD Fashion

Portfolio

The portfolio is an essential part of your application, and it represents an opportunity to display your creativity, exploratory research and technical skills. It is the place to showcase your concepts and critical thinking and express your interest in Fashion. Your portfolio contains a combination of visual and written work, including both process and finished pieces.

You need to Submit Four Portfolio Pieces

Submit four (4) finished pieces of your best creative work or samples of writing that display your skills and interest in Fashion. We really want to see how your ideas develop and so you are encouraged to also submit process work along with the finished paces to demonstrate the evolution of your ideas. Be sure to label your process work accordingly.

Your process may be demonstrated through:

• Sketching multiple concepts.
• Material exploration.
• Photos of work in progress.
• Credited images of inspiration.
• Notes and related research.

Clothing & Accessories

• Sewn Garment: From a commercial pattern or your original.
• Creative Reuse: Up cycled garment or accessory.

Notes: Display on a dress form or body. Photograph front, back and detail views. Include a short description.

Graphic Design

• Branding: Design a logo and advertisement using your original imagery and text.
• Social Media Campaign: Promote an idea through a social platform of your choice. Include graphics and a written description of your strategy.

Fine Art

• Traditional Art Media: Painting, printmaking, sculpture, etc.
• Illustration/Drawing: Fashion figure and garment design, accessory, or product illustration.
• Photography: Abstract, editorial or product-focused.

Accessory or Textile Design

• Accessory Design: An illustration, computer rendering or photographs of a physical prototype of your design for jewelry, hat, purse, etc. Include a short description along with images showing the overall design and details.
• Textile Design: Your original block print, digital design, weaving, embroidery, etc. Include a short description a long with sketches, prints or photographs showing the overall design and details.

Writing

• Academic Writing: An essay demonstrating your skills in research writing.
• Creative Writing: An example of fiction, non-fiction, or poetry.
• Fashion Journalism: An article you have written for a blog, print, etc.

Fashion Business

• New Business of Product Idea: Include a 1-2 page description and concept sketch or photos.
• Marketing Plan for a Fashion Brand: Include a 1-2 page description and concept sketches or photos.

Fashion Event

• Describe your role or contribution to a Fashion event that you planned, coordinated, or participated in. Include a 1-2 page description plus photographs and other related materials.
